What's New for 2010

The 2010 event will be held on Sunday, 17 January.

New award in 2010: The Mamaw Ruby award for the 56th finisher. Please go to the Awards page to learn more.

Online registration will open Sept. 15, 2009. More details to follow when we're closer to Sept. - check the registration page.

Looking toward 2010's celebration: Many of you have been with me since the beginning.  In 2010 it will be 5 yrs. for the Ghost Town 38.5.  Anyone who's gutted it out from that always awkward first year, through the course change, all the shifting of this and that, and of course the ups and downs of my beloved hills - well - 5 consecutive years gets you something special to take home.  I'm already planning and pondering.

If you're planning on being here, you might consider coming early for the Friday night supper. It's compliments of me and Matt, and because of something very special in 2010 there's rumor that it will be "Greek night." We're not talking fraternities here, but we are thinking about Greek food, wine, a tribute to a runner from ancient Greek - recited in ancient Greek, and who knows what else we'll come up with between now and then. I'll be asking who's interested later in the fall, but am letting you know now so you can arrange your travel plans with an eye on being here.

Due to the Friday night plans there will be no Friday evening check-in/packet pickup. If you arrive on Friday and want to get all squared away for race day, you need to get here by 4:45 p.m. At 5:00 I will take off my "registrar" hat and put on an apron in the kitchen to get ready for the dinner. I plan on enjoying the party until the last guest leaves, so the studio will be closed for the night at 5:00.

Until then...safe and happy running!  See you before long!  susan
