A Here to There, LLC event

The Ghost Town 38.5 accommodations

The Barbershop Motel: http://www.barbershopcafe.com/theMotel.html  Family owned and operated - 7 rooms - $45-65/night depending on the number of occupants.  Call (575)895-5283.  This is really the phone number for the Barbershop Cafe which is in the old saloon, but the same family runs the motel and that particular cafe.  I have asked and been told that no breakfast comes with the room.  In '06 and '07 Angela and Steve hosted the pre-race pasta dinner at the Barbershop Cafe and it was fantastic!

Enchanted Villa B & B -  (575)895-5686.  I had participants in a clay workshop I gave a few years ago stay here and they said the breakfasts are big enough to last you the whole day.  There are 3 rooms.  Singles are $55.00, doubles - $84.00 ('07 prices).

The Black Range Lodge  -  (575)895-5652  www.blackrangelodge.com    The lodge is just 8 miles from race headquarters (registration, start and finish lines) in the village of Kingston.  Many runners have stayed here in previous years and found it an easy commute.  Heck, I walk up and back regularly for a good stretch of the legs, so the drive shouldn't be intimidating at all!

Lakeview RV down at the interstate has two cabins ($25.00/night) and a number of camp sites with hookups ($15.00/night).  Jim tells me that showers, even if you're not staying at Lakeview are $4.00 - more if you want hot water, but that's Jim's way of joking around.  Lakeview RV park - phone: (575)743-2242  email: lakeview@zianet.com  website: www.lakeview-rvpark.comThis is just about 20 minutes down the road at the junction of I-25 and Hwy. 157.

Anyone wanting to camp... my property is available.  Since I live in the desert and am on a well and septic, I cannot offer posh accommodations (my water heater would never hold up if everyone wanted to shower here), but I would rather you camp on the property than risk driving the hills in the wee hours.  I will have  clean port-o-potties stationed at the back of the property for those in tents, RVS, and SUVs.  There will be at least one, maybe two other potties to the front of the property.  There are always the wild woods out back...but I caution you to be careful before stepping out to the backside of the studio as the wild animals tend to roam there as well.  Last year there was a sink in the studio, but that has been remodeled.

There are also public campsites just outside Kingston and several in the Gila Forest - if you're wanting to 'rough' it, let me know and I'll try and find info. about the more primitive sites for you.

Truth or Consequences is 35-45 minutes by car and has a wide variety of motels/rooms.  If Hillsboro/Kingston fills up, then we'll flow in that direction.  Let me know if you need help finding a place in TorC.

DO NOT PANIC IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING A PLACE.  PANIC IS NOT GOOD FOR YOUR GHOST TOWN EXPERIENCE.  CALL ME (575)895-3383.  I will help you find something, I promise.
